Renowned Author David Burkus Unravels The Myths of Creativity at the Knowledge Club 2014

David Burkus: Do you think brainstorming is the right way to generate new ideas…That’s a Myth!

Nov. 23rd – In co-operation with ALGAS Events and Global Innovation Company, Vigor Events held The Myths of Creativity seminar: a one day innovation seminar with bestselling author David Burkus, who uncovered the truth about how innovative companies and people generate ideas.

The myths-busting seminar addressed the fact that people tend to believe in some creativity myths that are not true and which actually create obstacles in the way of real creativity.
During The Myths of Creativity seminar, Burkus swiftly and effectively demystified the processes that drive innovation. Based on the latest research into how creative individuals and firms succeed, David Burkus highlighted the mistaken c that hold us back and shows us how anyone can embrace a practical approach, grounded in reality, to finding the best new ideas, projects, processes, and programs.

The seminar turned the attendees’ attention to the strategies to enhance their creative capacity with activities they can apply to their lives the very same day. Burkus took the attendees into a journey to explore the secrets of the world’s most innovative companies and the truth about their impressive creativity.

It is worth noting that as a speaker, David Burkus has delivered keynotes and lectures to a diverse set of audiences, from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies to the U.S. Naval Academy. His work on leadership, innovation, and strategy has been published in numerous scholarly journals and practitioner publications. He is a contributing writer for Forbes, 99U, PsychologyToday, and the Harvard Business Review blog. His work has also appeared in Fast Company. Inc, Blooomberg BusinessWeek, and the Financial Times.

He is the Assistant Professor of Management at the College of Business at Oral Roberts University, where he teaches a course on leadership, creativity, strategy, and organizational behavior. He is a fellow of the Royal Society for the Arts and was named an “Expert-in-Residence” by Creative Oklahoma. He is also the founder and host of LDRLB, a podcast that shares insights from research on leadership, innovation, and strategy.
